The Scottish Government Enquiry Reporter has now issued her decision on the appeal submitted by Glovart Holdings and has granted consent for demolition of the buildings occupied by “Earthy” at Canonmills.

As previously reported the developer Glovart Holdings has appealed against the Council’s refusal to give consent for demolition of the buildings occupied by “Earthy”.
Council approves demolition of old cottage and construction of new 3 storey block of flats on Warriston Road.
Although the site of this development at 5 Warriston Road is just outside the Inverleith Conservation Area, the Society was seriously concerned about a number of aspects of the proposal and submitted a detailed objection. The issues causing us concern were:
Developers appeal Council decision to refuse demolition of Canonmills Bridge buildings
The developers seeking to replace the existing buildings at 1-6 Canonmills (the building occupied by “Earthy”) and to replace it with a four storey block of flats with three houses at the rear, have now submitted an appeal against the Council’s decision refusing demolition consent.
